MORE than 100 employees of Standard Chartered and their family members took
part in a run recently to raise funds for two homes that provide shelter and
care for mothers and children with HIV/AIDS.
The 2.5km run was held at Technology Park in Bukit Jalil, Selangor, and the
money collected from the sale of limited edition T-shirts, food and games
coupons as well as personal donations from staff, their families and friends
went to Rumah Solehan and Rumah Wake.
Speaking after flagging off the runners, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia
global shared service centre Kuala Lumpur head Edwin Nevis said the bank’s
relationship with the homes encompassed weekly activities between bank staff
and the children.
“There are singing, reading and colouring sessions, tuition, handicraft
classes, field trips and picnics as well as home maintenance activities such
as gardening, cleaning and painting,” said Nevis.
