"Youth 2 Youth Outreach"
The

(27/05/07)
THE Malaysian AIDS Council’s HIV Youth to Youth Theatre project is a peer
education project and a youth group outreach.
We are looking for 30 BRATs who are interested in learning to use theatre as
a tool in peer education. Theatre practitioner Chris Ng, who founded the
project, will be training you all to be facilitators for the HIV Youth to
Youth Theatre project.
After the training, peer educators will go to the ground (back to their
school or community) to disseminate HIV/AIDS information and develop stories
through issues using theatre.
Trained youth facilitators will also be able to use this methodology to
carry out peer education in other issues.
The training will take four days, but we want BRATs who are committed to
learning and using their skills as peer educator for the long haul.
You do not need to be fantastic actors or have prior theatre experience to
take part in this project; just a willingness to commit your time and lots
of heart.
If you are interested, please let us know at brats@thestar.com.my.
